Sailing into the Future. Together. Giorgio Pisani talks about the value of sustainability

The Yacht Club Punta Ala (Grosseto, Italy), the Société des Regates d’Antibes (French Riviera, France) and the Associazione Velabili of Lugano (Ticino, Switzerland): what do these three organisations have in common? They will be the protagonists of the inclusive sailing initiatives which IBSA is promoting as part of its project Sailing into the Future. Together.

IBSA has indeed started partnerships with the three sailing clubs by promoting inclusive sailing initiatives: in Italy and France the company donates some Hansa 303 – boats designed to be sailed by people with disabilities – while in Switzerland it supports the participation of the Associazione Velabili in international competitions. Other activities and forms of support will be implemented over time, to allow everyone to experience the thrill of a regatta, going beyond their physical and cognitive difficulties.

Sailing into the Future. Together is a project that goes beyond the sporting challenge: it’s also an opportunity to create value, as well as returning it to the community, through environmental and social sustainability. Engagement, respect for the other, dealing with diversity, and dialogue are just some of the intrinsic values ​​of inclusive sailing, which IBSA embraces and promotes through these initiatives. By virtue of this commitment, on 17 March 2022, IBSA received the Sport for Nature Award 2022 in the category “Azienda per il sociale” (Company for social initiatives).
