NORMANDY CHANNEL RACE 2024

The Normandy Channel Race is the third event in the sporting calendar of Alberto Bona and the Class40 IBSA, a magnificent regatta with start and arrival in Caen (France).

Launched in 2010 and now in its 15th edition, it’s a double-handed regatta for Class40s only, as well as one of the most eagerly awaited events for ocean sailors. It takes place every year in spring and every four years in September.

A thousand very tactical miles along a route between France, England and Ireland, among inshore currents and tides and moderate wind conditions, to be navigated between three legendary points: the English Solent channel and the Irish lighthouses of Tuskar Rock and Fastnet.

This year, the Normandy Channel started on Sunday, September 15, from the port of Ouistreham, just over 15 km from the city of Caen in Normandy. Alberto Bona is taking part in the Normandy Channel Race 2024 with co-skipper Alberto Riva who in 2022, after many successes in the Mini class, moved full time to the Class40 with Acrobatica.
