After the success of the 2023 edition, the second IBSA Cup – the traditional end-of-summer regatta of the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano (CVLL), renamed last year after its main sponsor – will be held on Lake Lugano on 31 August and 1 September.
About thirty boats from different sailing classes – including Optimist and Laser – will be involved in this second edition of the race, for a total of around 150 participants.
The IBSA Cup will also see the participation of the athletes of the Associazione Velabili, an organisation based at theCVLLwhich promotes the practice of sailing for people with disabilities. The Velabili – whom IBSA has supported since 2023 as part of the project Sailing into the Future. Together – will compete aboard Hansa303s, boats designed to ensure safe and accessible navigation.
As a testament to IBSA’s strong commitment to inclusion and the promotion of sport, a few IBSA collaborators will also participate in the regatta, with two crews. IBSA itself will also be present with a stand during the two days of the event.
